Santa Rosa Festival (August)
The Santa Rosa First Peoples' festival, running for well over 200 years — traditional dances, the Carib Queen, and the feast of Santa Rosa de Lima.
Arima is a borough in east-central Trinidad, set at the foot of the Northern Range. The town has deep historical ties to T&T's First Peoples community and is the traditional seat of the Santa Rosa Carib Community.
The feeling
Arima sits where the Northern Range meets the eastern plains, and it's got the deepest roots of any town in Trinidad. This is the home of the Santa Rosa First Peoples Community — the island's original inhabitants, still here, still celebrating. Come for the culture, stay for the feeling that you're somewhere ancient and alive at the same time.
